The Role

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of TaskRay prospects and customers, primarily in the large market and enterprise space, by providing pre- and post-sale technical and product expertise and business process consultation. This role will work closely with internal teams, prospects, and customers to ensure successful communication, implementation, and use of the product. The Solutions Engineer combines Salesforce technical skills and project management skills, and is an expert in understanding business processes and translating requests into best practice solutions.

What you'll do:

Pre-Sale Customer Consultation

  • Guiding prospects in product and technical understanding by leading customized product demos and leading technical calls (supporting the sales motioned owned by the sales AE)
  • Supporting the selling AE with technical assistance, demo org configuration, RFP and security assessment questionnaires, and other product and technical materials as needed
  • Writing Statements of Work or Design documents for client engagements to define the scope of planned work to successfully configure and implement TaskRay, potentially including how TaskRay can be used alongside other Salesforce applications
  • Performing hands-on solution design and creating design documents
  • Creating and leading prospects trials and proof-of-concepts, guiding them through the process and working to prove concepts or help a prospect meet trial goals
  • Acting as a liaison between the Product, Support, Implementation, and Customer Success teams to help create a successful implementation plan for new customers

Implementation Solution Design

  • Effectively work with enterprise level customer teams, process, and roles
  • Design the customer implementation, providing guidance and consultation to the customer on setup, best practice, and technical tasks
  • Scope implementation design by performing end user scoping
  • Coordinate with internal teams (AE, AM, CSM, Product, Support) as needed and be the primary technical resource for the Implementation Project Manager
  • Create and own implementation design documentation that details the setup and configuration for the customer
  • Ensure TaskRay implementation is done effectively and enables the CSM to perform end user training prior to go-live

Post-Sale Customer Consultation

  • Serving as the trusted technical advisor to customers, gaining a deep understanding of the customer’s business process and needs, helping them envision ideal, sustainable solutions for long-term success, and guiding them on best practices
  • Providing customers the how-to technical guidance with clarity on resolving issues, optimizing customizations, and implementing new product features 
  • Managing paid support client projects and services on assigned accounts, including leading technical calls, preparing materials, and sometimes aligning and supporting the customer’s Salesforce SI (system integrator)
  • Provide support to the Support team on support related issues and tickets that are owned by the Support team, especially when it requires knowledge of customers business process that is held by the Solutions Engineer

What you bring to the table

  • 3+ years experience consulting on the Salesforce platform, OR
    • 3+ years of experience architecting on the Salesforce platform
  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing or pre-sale engineering role for large market/enterprise level clients
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Expert in Salesforce customizations and automations, including Flow
  • Configuration experience with multiple other Salesforce applications
  • Technical evangelist obsessed with learning new software
  • Eager for the opportunity to use both your technical skills and drive for partner and customer satisfaction
  • Comfortable balancing implementations, business process consulting, and project management for 10+ clients at any given time
  • Able to work at different levels in the organization; technical to C level
  • Understanding of enterprise level organizations buying process
  • Skilled at balancing technical terminology with business acumen
  • Travel requirements <15%
  • Salesforce certifications: Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, Business Analyst. Additionally, preferred to have/be on track to gain additional certifications.

Compensation

Cash compensation for this role is commensurate with experience. Estimated total on target earnings range is between $108,000-$135,000 annually; comprised of an annual salary between $100,000-$125,000 per year and additional uncapped variable compensation between $8,000-$10,000 per year.

Location

This position is hybrid (Colorado only).

While TaskRay has a physical office in the Denver area, we’ve always been proud of our hybrid approach to the work environment, even pre-pandemic. We expect this role to be in-office 2-3 days per week.

Additionally, we anticipate up to 15% travel time for this role.
